The manner in which a complaint that is referred for mediation is handled depends upon the nature of the issues and professional interactions involved. The process can take various forms including mediated conversations between individuals, and professional development to improve professional practices, ethical decision-making and/or relationship building.
Once the mediation is complete, a report is sent to the STF Executive. The Executive will decide to either:
- Refer the complaint to a disciplinary committee hearing if mediation processes failed to resolve the issues identified in the complaint.
- Close with no further action if the mediation processes resolved the issues identified in the complaint.
